Leopard spotted Toyota Matrix

This Toyota Matrix has to be the most feminine customization I’ve seen since the Mini that used to run around Southgate that had lace antimacassars on the seatbacks. That’s not a criticism – more power to the ladies!

Anyway, yesterday evening we headed up to the new Moxies at Hunt Club and Riverside and what did we see parked outside the T&T Chinese supermarket but this eye-catcher. Check out the interior too!

Sometimes life just gets in the way

Wow, life is crazy at the moment and not enough of that has involved photography or cool cars. I’ve got some shots of some interesting local vehicles to upload when I can grab a few minutes somewhere. There was a nice old Ford Mustang hanging around outside Wendys. There’s some others that I haven’t taken pictures of yet… an old S-type Jaguar that looks like someone’s new restoration project and an old-school (okay late-70s) Chevy van. There are so many cool cars in Ottawa. We saw someone hauling a black Lamborghini Murcielago on a flatbed the other day. With the weather changing most of the Harley’s are on their way back into storage for the winter.

I did get some inspiration to improve one of my shots, you’ll have to wait for me to get a moment to post it but here’s the original version…

I’ve never been fond of the colour cast on it so I fixed that and did some other tweaks in Adobe Lightroom and I’m now happy with it. I just need to export it and upload it. I’m pleased because an un-chopped 1927 Ford Model T Coupe is one of my all-time favourite cars. My ambition would be to build a Fad T based on it but instead of chopping the roof, I’d actually make it taller – now wouldn’t that be something different?

Anyway, I gotta get back to work. Just wanted to let you know I’m still around and hungry to take pictures of cool cars and bikes.

Cars and trikes at Kanata Cruise 2010-08-17

It was a good showing at Kanata this week despite the threat of rain. Corvettes, Mustangs, Novas, Chevelles, rat rods, Barracudas, Camaros, etc.

There was also a Lotus Seven, a Can-Am Spyder trike, and a Sunbeam sports car.

Kanata Cruise 2010-08-10

More cool cars and bikes for your enjoyment from this week’s Kanata Cruise. My favourite car was the Pontiac Solstice. I’m pleased with the close-up of the old Cadillac because I got detail in the highlights and the shadows but you probably don’t care about technical things like that – just enjoy the sumptuous blue interior. Check out the ‘tash on the guy riding the Harley Davidson doesn’t he look cool? It’s hard to get good general shots of the shoot with the people milling around. I’m pleased with the way the shot of the Barracuda brings across the sunset atmosphere of this cruise. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Lots of car and bike pictures to process from yesterday’s Kanata Cruise

It’s the first time I’ve been able to get to the Kanata Cruise this year. Took a bunch of pictures of the cool cars and bikes – now I have to edit and process them all. From the preview screen on the back of the camera it looks like I’ve got some good shots – let’s hope they look as good when I get them up on the computer monitor this evening.

It wasn’t the biggest turnout ever but pretty good – I guess the forecast rain put some people off but it was a nice evening. Hazeldean Mall is a great spot. There was a good selection: a Ferrari, a cool Pontiac Solstice – usually I prefer the looks of the Saturn Sky but this one was very nicely done, Meteor, Camaros (old and new), Barracuda, a bunch of nice old coupes, and many many more as they say in the infomercials.
